Being a responsible net user, you must be aware of the seriousness of a crime well-known in cyberspace as hacking. Though, there is much legislation and some companies also obtain IT Certification and IT security, getting hands on the culprit is still difficult. Many organizations lost their earnings just because of this information theft. It leads to a series of loss due to those hackers. Sadly, the law is not much tough for these offenders so they are able to get away with their crimes. Most of the time, they are not considered as criminals just because there is a serious lapse of legislation governing cyber crimes. In such a situation one just wonders what happens to those who actually get caught.
There are, naturally, famous cases when hackers have really been penalized for their crime. Nevertheless, it is not quite comforting to bring into consideration exactly how the movie fantasies have convincingly formed this belief of hackers as some cool and smart guys. It appears as if hacking is no crime provided the way it is portrayed. Now most individuals are happy to have this distorted perception without realizing how damaging it can be. It is very important to know what exactly gave wind to this illusion.
However, an important part of the question is what exactly happens to such an offender after being caught. What do you suppose are the possibilities? Do they pay for their crime? Are they actually sentenced to imprisonment? Or at the least are they made to pay damages to the victim?
These are questions that prop up in everyone’s mind. If the law enforcing agencies think that just by seizing hacker’s property, they can put an end to this dirty business, they are misled. It is quite absurd to believe that the trouble could be avoided by confiscation. In any case, some other corrupt guy can buy the hacker a new personal computer. The hacker will go back to whatever he was doing and might not be able to get caught this time.
Many people do not want to accept it but hacking is a very serious crime. Furthermore, leniencies like this are only making matters worse. With no real punishments, the bad guys know they can get away with it. They will just keep on robbing valuable information causing damage beyond repair to them. When the law enforcing agencies are chasing them, they are busy burning cash in some offshore casino.
It is high time we realize the seriousness of the situation. In case it all persists like this, then internet users will be at God’s mercy to get security for their valuable information. You can certain measures for sure to keep away hackers but it is still a risky business. Some of these hackers can start with installing key loggers into your computer. For that you need to be prepared. Always remember to install some software for basic security. It is a good idea to install firewall which can keep your system secure for a long time guarding it against viruses and any other type of software available.
