Newbies Deciding on a Profitable Online Business

For the person who is new to the many business opportunities available to them online and doesn’t know where to start or the person who has an interest but is a little wary, then, that is understandable. It’s also okay to feel that way. This article is intended for you, to perhaps ease those feelings and answer some questions.

So for someone who is new to the world of making money online and fulfilling a desire to have a business and a successful one, just where do you start?

Do you follow the crowd? Do you align yourself with a market? Do you go into this alone/on your own?

If you do go into a particular market, which one? Or should follow your passion and explore making your passions/hobbies your online business?

The other question that may come to mind and that I too query is, what about affiliate marketing and joint ventures? Those words get thrown around on the internet are painted with either a positive or negative slant.

When this whole adventure can feel somewhat isolating at the start, an understanding and an open mind is needed. It is difficult to distinguish between what is authentic, long-lasting and worthy of your time and precious resources.

I do not consider myself an expert nor a guru in this field but I can share according to my experiences some helpful tips and pointers to the right direction.

I have four important guidelines.

Firstly I like to go to blogs and forums in the field of internet marketing and online businesses to check out what people are saying and experiencing. This gives you a real feel for different markets, passions or hobbies you are interested in, thus allowing you to make more of an informed decision.

Secondly there are two important phrases or sayings that have stuck with me over the years in regards to making a profitable online business and they are:

If you solve peoples problems, you will go a long way, as we all encounter problems and many people are searching the net for answers to their problems. So if you can provide the solution through the tools of information or software this will be highly profitable for you and beneficial for your online customers.

If others are making money so can you. I guess this phrase answers the question of do you follow the crowd or align yourself with affiliate marketing? There is a great number of people who search online everyday and the number continues to rise as access and affordability becomes easier. Therefore as users increase so too does opportunities. I believe affiliate marketing can work as these opportunities ever the more increase.

Thirdly, reviews. This neatly ties up everything in a bow of what I have been writing. It is most important to review the trends, the hot markets and niches. Reviews allow the space for authenticity and the potential for growth or a true reflection of what is working and what is not working. Very helpful to obtain that feedback so as to know where to invest your time and resources.

Fourth point is, in my opinion, I don’t think it is healthy (at least for newbies) to venture out on their journey alone in this massive industry. There are some really great expert leaders who you can glean fresh, honest information and experience from. Even these expert leaders mastermind with each other often venturing out into new online businesses together, inviting others to join them along the way. I guess this brings me back to checking out forums and the reviews. You will certainly get a feel for what is happening and see how you too can join in on the journey.

Online Business Hurdles

Getting into online business is just like anything done the first time. First, there is the enthusiasm, then the reality of its difficulties and the feeling of despair. If one gets stuck in the last phase, then everything is lost. The enthusiasm, the opportunity and the investment, if there is any.

The good thing about it, is that nobody escaped the ugly truth about the entire exercise. What separates those who made it and those who didn’t is a matter of attitude, or going over the feelings of despair and plodding on until one hits his/her pot of gold.

Herein, I lay down my own hurdles to share with those who are contemplating of going into online business and those who are in the point of despair.

There is no “easy money online:”

Starting your own business, be it traditional or home based business is always difficult. A lot of preparation is necessary before taking the final plunge. And when you are already in the water, a lot of sharks will tear you apart before you even make a single cent from your online business.

My few years of doing online business has endowed me with a little bit of wisdom to know what and where these hurdles are. Surmounting these can either allow you to make money from home or you can make you a part of the 97% who failed. These are:

- Being an affiliate. Everybody says that this is the easiest and fastest way to make money online. This approach has two very distinct problems: First, an affiliate of what or who? Second, even if you are, how are you going to promote your online business? Surmounting these hurdles is battle half won.

- Online business tips. I have read countless of articles on “easy money online,” or “best home based internet business,” and dozens of other “successful online business” articles. All these share one thing in common. They don’t offer any new idea, they are written poorly, they lead to sites that sell you something, or they just plain don’t make sense. If you want honest-to-goodness tips, look for a mentor.

- Cut and paste programs. If you have been doing online business for some time I am sure that you have had countless offers of these “cut and paste” online business models. Thrash them. There is no such thing as “cut and paste.” You will be led into a website that is difficult to understand after being offered a “free access” privilege with monthly subscription fees. These is no such thing. Only hard knuckle promotion to your chosen niche.

- Free reports. I submitted an article on “free reports” to EzineArticles. All free reports are intended to put your name in their mailing list. So beware. They don’t tell you anything, they are a tedious mile-long of inanity, cluttered with endorsements from people you don’t know. Look for a free report that does not opt you in into a mailing list.

Bottom line:

You can make money from home from your home based business. But you have to do it your way, not their way. Which means you have to learn the ropes through reading and learning from others. The web is full of online business tips. But you have to know the source of the business ideas you want to make use of. The Web is full of con artists, probably more than in the traditional business.

Starting An Internet Business and Maintaining Momentum

When you first make the decision of starting an internet business, the thoughts that drive you the most to do your research and eventually make your investment, are probably the end goals that you have in mind. This could be more free time to spend with your family, or increased financial security. Read on to find out how to maintain your momentum and overcome any feelings of self-doubt that may creep in.

Starting any type of home internet business requires you to be passionate about achieving your goals. Remember that, if you have no previous experience of managing a business of your own, what ever you put in at the start, is what you will benefit from later on.

As an online business owner, you are working for yourself. There is no hourly reward for sitting at your computer and staring unproductively at the screen! Don’t fall in to the trap of doing nothing and then looking around for someone to blame when you don’t see the results you were expecting!

I am assuming here that you are following proper guidance as you begin your internet business ventures. Whatever system, company or coach you are involved with, you should already have satisfied yourself that you trust their knowledge, or the proven effectiveness of the business model that you are following.

Often, when people decide on starting an internet business and are in the beginning stages of setting everything up, it is quite common to have feelings of information overload. There is of course, new information and skills for you to develop. However, this is not rocket science!

In my experience, I believe that new, inexperienced online business owners try to look at all of the information that is available to them at once. You can choose your own cliché – you can eat an elephant one mouthful at a time, or, you conquer the mountain one step at a time.

This is the key to maintaining your momentum as you embark on your home internet business – take everything one step at a time. I recall one of my own personal coaches saying it like this: “If you wait for all the lights to turn green before you set off, you will never make it off the driveway.”!

Remember that if you are not moving forward with your business, then you are moving backwards. Keeping your momentum going, as you are starting an internet business of your own, comes down to trusting in just two things.

You need to trust that the information that you have been given is correct (through proper research before you begin) and you have to trust in yourself to simply keep on putting one foot in front of the other. Keep on doing that as you are starting an internet business of your own and you will maintain your momentum and you will reach your goals.

Get More Smileys to Express Yourself Better

Expressing one’s full thought online can be frustrating because you don’t have the aid of tone of voice, body language, or facial gestures to help get your full message across. To help users overcome this difficulty, Facebook created a host of smiley faces that Facebook users can utilize as representation for some of their feelings or facial expressions. Facebook smileys represent human emotions that you might not want to put into words when talking to someone because they might ruin the flow of conversation. For instance, a friend compliments you about your new haircut. You don’t write ‘I’m smiling’ or ‘I’m blushing’, but most often would just say thanks. If you have emoticons on hand, would you not rather send a smiling or grinning face to express how you feel than just write a simple note that says ‘Thanks!’? Which shows more how you really feel?

Facebook smileys do not only help make messages clearer, they also make conversations a little more fun and unique, a little more interesting. However, Facebook smileys have some limitations:

1. The 27 chat emoticons that Facebook has are not able represent many human feelings and expressions.

2. The designs of the smiley faces are rather plain, especially when you put them side by side with smiley faces of IMs like Yahoo Messenger and Skype.

3. They represent more general facial expressions (e.g. smile, frown) or feelings (e.g. happiness, sadness), and so can’t be used to represent more specific emotional states, body language, or facial expression (e.g. jumping with joy, green with envy). Facebook chat emoticons are not able to represent some subtleties in emotions.

4. The smileys faces can be used on Facebook chat only. They can’t be posted on wall posts and status messages.

Managing the Limitations of Facebook Chat Emoticons

The best way to get around the limitations of Facebook’s proprietary smileys is to get external smileys to Facebook. External smiley application offers the following advantages:

1. More free smileys to choose from. Most external apps offer a broad ranger of emoticons so you’re not limited to using the same smiley faces over and over again.

2. Graphic designs of smiley faces tend to be more animated, making them more fun to use.

3. If you’re angry, do you turn red or do you fume with anger? If you’re happy, do you jump with joy, grin, or just smile? Most external apps offer smiley emoticons offer more variety in terms of human feelings and expressions. As such, it’s easier to show the subtleties of your emotions.

4. Some apps let you post smiley faces to wall posts and status messages, too.

There are many free smileys for Facebook online. To get them to Facebook, most developers require that you download smiley software. Users, however, should do some research first before downloading the free software to their PC or web browser. Is it safe to use? What is the extent of the variety that it offers? What is the quality of the graphic design? Research is essential as the first step to enhancing your Facebook experience with smileys or emoticons is to have a good Facebook smileys app.

Positive Home Business – Fine Tuning Your Online Attitude

Starting up a new business takes a certain amount of determination and grit, but it should always be done with a positive attitude. You can start a home business to earn money online, but it will get you nowhere if you only expect to fail. You do not need to accept the feelings that come to you when you first think of self employment. Here are two ways to take charge of your attitude and make your way forward enthusiastically.

1. Redefine self employment.

In your mind, self employment may mean some pretty distressing things to you. It may mean feeling alone, vulnerable, or a lack of resources. Reevaluate all your thoughts about self employment, and consider how you will better think about your new work from home business.

For example, replace feeling alone with the ability to network online with other self employed home businesspeople. Forget feeling vulnerable, and find strength in your abilities and talents. Do some research to make sure you are taking advantage of lucrative home job opportunities, and then take comfort in the fact that you are on the right bandwagon.

As for a lack of resources, study your field and find the resources you need. They are likely out there already. If they are not, think this about self employment: It is up to you to make things happen. If you need something that is not available, brainstorm until you come up with a solution to your problem, rather than giving up too easily. Remind yourself that you are a capable person and you can accomplish great things.

2. Expect your home business to thrive.

You should plan for your own success. When you work from home, it is easy to get mired down in the mundane and everyday details of your new business. These are indeed important. However, you must also pay attention to the overall triumph of being able to earn money by working at home.

Get poster card boards to illustrate your success. Draw scenes that show what your life will be like when you reach a high level of achievement. If art is not your thing, look through magazines and cut out pictures of the luxury items you want to have, the vacations you want to go on, and the activities you want to enjoy.

Post your artwork somewhere that is near your desk where you will see it every day. Even if you do not think about it, it will be there in the background, affecting your attitude and keeping it positive. This will help you appreciate all the job opportunities that come your way. You will be sensitive to how they will fit into your overall plan. Your attitude is not a sideline to your new business; it is the heart and soul of your work from home success.

While there are many ways to leave your day job and live the life, you have always wanted. You need a personal guide to walk you through step by step and show you how to exit the rat race and Leave your day job. Alphonso Bailey

First of all I would like to explain to you the reality of humankind. I know it might be a little bit off the topic but it is actually not. It’s very important for you to understand this before you go scrolling down the article. So be open minded and think deeply of what I’m going to tell you here.

Every activities in this world are usually based on human psychology. This includes businesses which are dominated and conquered by us, homo sapiens, humans. People act according to their feelings and thoughts (psychologically). Here I’m going to explain the two major feelings we usually indulge in our daily lives. Number one, sad. People get sad because they lost something or maybe because they didn’t get what they want. Number two, people get happy when they get what they want. Now these two feelings are vital in every business we hold. When somebody get sad, his/her reaction will point towards the negative and so it is, vice versa for happy feelings.

Here’s a real example that you can take a look at. Russell is a businessman. He runs an internet business with his JVs (I’m sure you’re already common with this term). Although he’s a businessman, he doesn’t like to give quality contents to his products that he’s selling. Mostly all of his products are just a ‘copy and paste’ from other sources and there are a lot of fouls in them. He kept on repeating the same content for each page (eBooks) just to make it look professional (when it’s actually not, of course). He thought he was ready to sell his stuffs so he set up a sales letter and get it online. For the first few weeks, money came in. He felt so happy that he kept on expecting the money to cash in more. But as time goes by, days, weeks and months, there weren’t anymore. He only sold his product once with a total amount of 27$. Why do you think this happens?

Firstly, his first customer might be someone who has a very huge network. He/she might have spread the news that how bad was the quality and the value of Russell’s products are. His customer, obviously, is sad. This points the customer’s feelings to the negative side and is spreading to the other of his/her networks. This is what happens when you give bad quality and value in your products/services. The news will spread like wildfire instantly and before you know it, you just lost your credibility.

The situation would turn out differently if Russell gives high quality and value to his customers with the product he’s selling. Furthermore, the effect would double, triple, quadruple if he gives more than what his customers asked for. He could provide highly informative contents in his products, give bonuses, discount codes for other of his product in the eBook, FREE extra download links to his own video tutorials, worksheets and more!If Russell do this, his business will surely skyrocketed and acknowledged well by many people online with his ‘Class’ credibility.

As internet marketers, we have to learn to give. That’s the main aspect every internet marketers should have in themselves. Second, we have to put ourselves in the customers’ shoes. Try to think and feel by being your own customer, what they expect and want from you. Of course, they want high values and qualities from what you have to offer to them. The happier they are, the more money you make!If you follow the example that I’ve shown you above (the happy Russell), you’ll see your name posted everywhere, forums, blog posts, videos, audios, articles and even other people’s sales letter! People will acknowledged by your true value and will come to look for you. That way, your business deal starts!Third, you have to be consistent. Never ever let your customers down and disappointed in you. Keep giving them great values and make them hungry for more.

The three main things that I’ve just told you above are the ones which are going to make your sales go BOOM. So you ALWAYS have to stick to them. No procrastination. Ever. Period.

Last tip from me is, we as internet marketers, always have to learn continuously. Even John Reese done this. Tiger Woods. Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey!Always learn how to improve ourselves and not just stay at the same spot watching other people soar above before you did. It’s all about the race. Once again, good luck.
